Zombie feels

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

So, its been awhile since I've posted here. I blame schoolwork and books. I swear, they want to distract me from having doing any real work done.

After reading Zombie novels by Gena Showalter, and mostly being almost Halloween, I still have some zombie feels. Especially after watching new episode of the Walking Dead last night.

Found some really chibi cutie Alice in tribute to the book. I couldn't find any zombie Alice with blonde hair. :(

Now, I just wish I could find a punk version of the Mad Hatter...then I'll be happy. ^.^

OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!! Its really today!!!

Today Ms. Julie K has revealed her new series which would be a movie in the near future!!!! Here's the Link:
http://juliekagawa.blogspot.com/2013/10/super-sekrit-series-revealed.html?

Then her other book series Blood of Eden which is about a vampire dystopia type...is optioned to become a film!!!! I really hope they pick hers because its like there's potential for that series to become a movie because its very detailed, full of imaginative scenarios where the its in an post-apocalyptic world. Truly, my first impression was like it was a mix of Resident Evil and Underworld a bit.. but hers is a total unique concept altogether.

OOOh!!!! I really hope they pick Blood of Eden!!!!!!!!

Little segue from the usual...

It's nice to finally write about something that's NOT about lessons, school work, that kind of stuff.

Its been nearly 6 months since I've read a good book for entertainment purposes and lived to talk about it. I mean, college life, though fun and always unexpected, is brutal to a person's sleep. And sometimes sanity. But I will push through!!!

Anyway, might be a while before my writing zeal comes back again full force, what with its purpose otherwise directed elsewhere, especially with  a hell of a team of very stiff-necked professors. You get my drift. So far, I've accomplished 4 thick-ass novels, wrote a review of them, read some more books....any book to make my vacation somewhat productive. I mean, I have a stack oif books I bought last year, and still haven't read yet, and also more than a thousand ebooks to go through.

Good luck, to me. -___-

Poems, poems, poems...

Something unimaginable happened today...something I never would have expected praise from...

Today, when my prof announced "We're going to create a 5 line poem..." I was like "Oh, shit!, I'm gonna fail this..I so suck at this!!!" The class progressed, my prof explaining the mechanics, I was like, super relieved because it was so EASY!!!.. Well, I think that was just the basics.

Funny thing she said was that the boys were more poetic in things like this than the girls. Yeah, I kind of knew that because I know most boys are prone to being emo-ishness and depression and that kind of stuff... I think that's why most emos are so poetic and some were Goths and have gothic death metal bands..I'm not sure...

Anyway, I think I spent almost 10 minutes just thinking about the topic I'm supposed to write about...My thoughts were like "Paper....hmmm, no.. Anime???....hmm.. no...." then it hit me "Stars!!"

Funny thing happened when I was writing it. Because the format for the poem was like this:

Adjective + adjective
verb + adverb
like a...
if only...

So, when I was writing the words, the words flowing through me to my hand like thick sludge...Freakin writer's block happened and I was like "What's another word for....another word, another word.. shit!"

Thank goodness for some entity or something who's looking down at me and gave me a burst of inspiration. "Stars" became "Northern Lights" because I ran out of words on how to poem a star. So it goes like this...

"Northern Lights"

so mysterious and divine...
dancing hypnotically in the sky...
like tidal waves of light...
if only I could dance with you every night...

Miss said it was very lovely and she really liked it. Huh. Surprised the hell out of me because when I read it, it doesn't sound so extraordinary or anything, proving that I have no sense of taste or sophistication when it comes to poetry. And she was right about the boys. When they read their pieces, the entire class was like "Aww"..then laughing then there were moments the pieces were so deep, we were like "Deep, man, deeeeep.." Then two of the three stooges as well like to call them, read their pieces at the same time, alternating lines and like harmonizing each other. "The sword and the shield" thing... so hilarious... Then my friends and I had a devious plan to create a "funny" poem for a friend of ours. Have to wait for his reaction tomorrow though. Still, I can't imagine what he'll do. Will he laugh, be offended(fake if he did) or seek revenge???..*shudder* like I told my friend... "Hell hath no fury like a gay-man's scorn"... Hahahaha >.<

*Sigh*.. good day. :)

Happy day out...

 ----------------------------------- Happy happy me!!!--------------------------------

So freakin tall...it goes up, up and up!!! @.@

Had a fun day today with my family. Though its noticeable in my pictures that I don't take pictures of them save one. I don't know why is that. Anyway, we went to Megamall, a first for me since I'd never been there before.

I think that me and my mom enjoyed the most because we tried the ice cream she always wanted which was gelato, which is by the way expensive but totally worth it because they use fresh ingredients and its sooo yum. i had a chocolate-blueberry while my mom got chocolate truffle though she rather wanted the coffee-chocolate one. I said to y mom then that we'd try that one next time. My brother had fun too because its been a long time since he got out of the house and he was pretty giddy about going out.

Anyway, while walking I never realized I'd get tired really quick because the mall is so freakin long! And we haven't even explored all of it yet. Mall of Asia is like that as well, only more confusing I guess.

On the way while looking for bookshops (that's my main mission for the day other than eat expensive ice cream; track down the bookstores) this heavenly, waffle-ly scent comes by us and we're like hypnotized by the delectable smell. We saw a stall with lots of people lining up and my mom asked if I would like to try it since its affordable and unusual to us both.

We tried these small, cakey, pancakey, stuffed pastry which was cooked in two hot moulds and filled with either pastillas(which was sweet by the way) and this mocha/chocolatey fudge(which was also yummy and not too sweet or bitter) We instantly liked it and my mom considered franchising it.

A day out with the family is the best kind of activity there is. You'd get to experience new things with them and let loose for a day after a hectic week.

Unexpected morning... ended in an unexpected realization

This morning's activity has inspired me to do something I'd never in a long time..

My professor wanted us to go into groups for reasons I had no idea yet then. Luck of all lucks, she started the lesson with descriptive writing...like for novels and the like. Funny thing about it was that my friend and I who's a fanfic writer herself...you get the point.

So, there we were, two writers in one groups. We had a heck of a time because we keep changing what the scenes and details of this and that. The topic was our perspective on a a scene where you're seeing your crush. The setting and details were up to you.

I noticed then that many--actually majority--chose that and were giggling their asses off. For our part, we laugh too for the most part of the activity.

After class, I had a spark of inspiration. It made me realize that with all the stuff that's happened in my life, I lost touch with the one thing I loved the most.

So..for this year's resolution(though I'm not sure if you're suppose to make on before or after the new years) is to finish my novels no matter how long it takes because, now that I think about it, there's so much pleasure in having to accomplish such a tedious yet enjoyable task. The mental blocks and editing are challenges I'll gladly go through just so because in the end, I know that finally finished this. That I could say proudly that I made this and that it doesn't matter if not much people would like it.

What matters is the feeling that comes with it and the knowledge that at least some people would appreciate it. :)

The End of the World...in 2 Days....

Whether you're a believer or not, don't you ever think that the day when everything ends? That everything you know would be gone?

In two days, the Mayan calendar supposedly indicates the end of civilization as we know it. Nostradamus says so, too but didn't day when though.

There are many who think of the end days as: a moment where we prepare and muster any survival instincts we have and strive to live in a post-apocalyptic world; and the days where we live to the fullest, go on with our everyday lives, and live life as it is. Those days are when humanity will be thoroughly tested.

But enough of that crap. No more doom and gloom, and trying to drive yourself crazy with the endless possibilities of the future. I for one am a little skeptic of the 12/21/12 prophecy. If there was a catastrophic disaster that would wipe out humanity, shouldn't there be at least warning signs that would signal the end? Aside form global warming and the effects of that, of course. I mean, if it was true, then maybe, in my opinion, the end would only happen to a certain few, like those past disasters that was supposedly predicted by Nostradamus or some other guy who thought that day was the end. Its that or that the events in Day After Tomorrow movie would happen; they're spontaneous and happened within a matter of weeks. Or maybe some super fast comet big enough to cause massive extinction would hit earth so fast that we have only months to prepare like in Armageddon.

The Dec 21 day is a winter solstice, meaning that there would be a very long night then. So, what do you think would happen? Lunar eclipse signaling something terrifying would happen? Plagues worst than the Black Plague? Waves pulled by the moon, bigger that the tallest mountain in the world? A massive collision with another planet? Solar flares that would burn us to a crisp? Or maybe, a more practical reason; the collapse of the market economy and whatnot. Whatever it is, more and more people who believe in this grow more panicky with each day. Mass hysteria would ensue probably on the day before the end. And chaos around the globe cause by people who're paranoid about the end would probably happen, too. Maybe. Probably.

There are people out there who prep for the worst, avid preppers who stockpile food, weapons and whatnot in order to survive a post-apocalyptic world. Though I kind of think they're slightly paranoid, but for a good reason, I would guess. Because when the end really comes, they'll be the ones who would probably survive longer; depends on the the survival equipment they have, the shelter they live in and the like. I salute their efforts, though I'm still doubtful that some of their causes for their prepping would come to past.

So, for the believers out there, make your preparations, spend time with your loved ones because  hey, this might be your last days with them. On the other hand, for the non-believers, move on, but live your life to he fullest. You never know when you will die , so I think its best to spend it the best way you can. :))

You know, we should use this opportunity to make peace with those we don't get along with and find unity with other people. I mean, Christmas is nearing and it time to celebrate in joy and the birth of Christ. Not wallow in prepping. We'll do whatever it takes when the time comes; we'll move into action when we get there. Or when its staring at us in the face.
